The University of Northern Iowa offers scholarships each year to deserving students, on the basis of merit and/or achievement. Many scholarships consider financial need based on FAFSA results. Scholarship selection is competitive; not all applicants will receive a scholarship. Scholarships require full-time enrollment and maintaining specific grade point requirements.
Not sure where or how to begin your scholarship search? For scholarship consideration, complete the UNI Scholarship Application. This one application allows both current and incoming students to apply for scholarships available in specific majors and other University departments. The deadline for most scholarships is January 15. The UNI Scholarship Directory is also a helpful tool designed to assist students in searching for scholarships.
Some scholarships at UNI are awarded at the time of admission. Click on this chart to see an outline of the eligibility criteria for these scholarships. Incoming students will receive notification of their selection from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. All other scholarships at UNI require the completion of the UNI Scholarship Application.
