Now that it's almost time to start paying back your student loans, it's important to understand details like when your payment is due, how you can make a payment, and how your loan servicer can help you have the best student loan experience possible.
Have your borrowed federal loans? Are you graduating or dropping below half-time enrollment? If so, you must complete online Exit Counseling on the StudentLoans.gov website. For more information, please review this Exit Counseling presentation.
Federal Direct Loan Program
If you've borrowed a Federal Direct Loan you will need to complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling at studentloans.gov. During completion of exit counseling you will learn more about your federal loan servicer and select a repayment plan. Federal Perkins Loan Program
If you’ve borrowed a Perkins Loan, you will need to complete Perkins Loan Exit Counseling at www.myloancounseling.com. During completion of Perkins exit counseling, you will learn more about University Accounting Service (UAS), your Perkins Loan servicer. You will need to create your UAS account at www.uasecho.com. All UAS communications will be sent via email so be sure that you provide an email address that you use most often.
